Hi guys, finally, it’s time to go home. Well spent spring is over in Europe, and we’re going to see it again in Finland where it has just started. About 60 days in Europe taught us a lot, for sure we will be better this summer, we have already around 200 water hours from the beginning of this season (22.12). The best is that we know the biggest leaks so we can continue improving when we get home ;)

Where we improved? Boat handling, starting, fleet race, wind up from 15 knots and we learned how to use these sails in light air also.

And problems; medium wind, especially in choppy conditions, some maneuvres could be better and the tactical side of course. We could be better over all, as usual.

Mallorca show an intresting side in night life. Bars and clubs had own walking sales men promoting their own bars, and promising things like “you will get more drunk with us” or “we are cheaper and we have better parties!”. And they we very agressive to get you inside, in Barcelona we didn’t expirience this. As promised, “wine report” will upcome in some days or weeks, but maybe also a party report from that few what we went thru, so you would be more wise also. This is necessar because social side is especially important in 470 class ;)

Alrite folks, we have seen enough Barcelona and it’s time to move. Barcelona was a warm surprise after Garda, and as a place very nice. Only sailing felt little bit hard in mediterranean choppy sea, but I heard that Barcelona was famous from it? Some bad luck we had also, like some more stuff got stolen (like normally in Barcelona), and we had stuff breaking inside the boat only in important moments (normal also). After few BFD:s and one DNC the total result show just what we deserved – 16th. But, it’s sailing after all.
On what we will concentrate next few days? Downwind speed, and some special attention to choppy weather sailing, both trimming and technic. The fact is that we haven’t sail much this kind of weather, but still, we have to be fast on it also. Maybe it was good to have this kind of race to remind us in which level we still are going, so urea is not flowing to our heads too fast! Thumbs up again, see you in Palma!

Moro kaikille, kisat eivät mene tällä hetkellä kauhean hyvin, eikä ensimmäisen päivän jälkeen tosiaan paljon tulos parantunut. Ongelmana oli ensin kehno purjehdus, sitten varaslähtö, ja viimeisenä rikkoutuvat välineet! On uskomatonta, miten saman päivän aikana menee ensin trapetsivyö rikki, ja sen jälkeen trapetsilenkki poikki. Varsinkin kun ollaa tulossa suht navakassa tuulessa ylämerkille top5:ssä… No joo, parasta kuitenkin oli se, että saatiin viimeisessä lähdössä tosiaan vene liikkeelle, löydettiin uusi mystinen trimmi. Lähes kaikki vaurioit on jo korjattu, ja ainakin todettiin, ettei se tunnelionnettomuus itsessään venettä hidastanut, ainakaan kauheasti ;).

Ikävin asia on se, että jouduimme jättämään tämän illan bileet väliin, sillä trapetsiliivin korjaaminen on aikaa vievä juttu. Otetaan vahinko takaisin sitten Mallorcalle vievällä lautalla parin päivän päästä…

Ainiin, autokaan ei starttaa tosiaan enää! Eestiläiset lupasivat kuitenkin auttaa, ja huomenna aiomme hinata sen yhteisvoimin heidän volkkarillaan käyntiin. Huomen lisää sit!
